Album Block Case

Pattern Source

Instructions for making this Album Block Case are in Elly Sienkiewicz's book Papercuts and Plenty, Volume Three of Baltimore Beauties and Beyond.

This Leg of the Journey – Completed January 2006

After I had completed two blocks I realized that my work was in great danger. Our house is very small, and with a husband, a teen-aged son, and two Official Quilting Monitors (cats), a quilting mishap was certainly imminent. I discovered the Album Block Case in one of Elly's books, and thought it would be the perfect solution. It was quick and easy to make. I suggest that you use white flannel for the inside fabric.

The case is 18 x 18 and has flaps to secure the blocks, and a front that folds up over the flaps. The case ties closed and has a handle.

Lesson Learned

Think a little harder about fabric when laying out a one-way design! Yes, I know that the lovely toile print on the front is upside down!
